Kathe Izzo is a graduate of Ann Wigmore Institute in Aguada, Puerto Rico.
She lives a 70 - 80% raw lifestyle and believes in moderate & gradual lifestyle changes with an emphasis on self love & acceptance, with living food detoxes every other month or seasonally in conjunction with colonic hydro-therapy & wheatgrass. All of the food prepared in the Inner Garden Cleanse is based on the guidelines developed by the Living Foods pioneer Ann Wigmore.
Although her background in catering & a love of gardening preceded The Inner Garden Detox, at her core Izzo is an artist. Her primary interest in the Living Foods lifestyle, is passion & creativity: how one uses the energy released from this green foods diet, what is it that you want to do with the beautiful & extraordinary light energy that is offered from a chlorophyll rich diet.
Izzo is primarily known for internationally recognized conceptual performance work that centers on an exploration of love. A nationally published poet and essayist, with work in numerous journals and anthologies including THE AMERICAN BIBLE OF OUTLAW POETRY (Thunders Mouth Press), Kathe Izzo is the Founding Director of The Shadow Project, an acclaimed program dedicated to implementing personal and community change through writing, derived from her work with traumatized adolescents. She was the recipient of two consecutive Massachusetts Cultural Council awards for FLICKER, her series of teen writing journals, as well as the teen spoken word CD, FIREWORK. Currently working in a variety of mediums as a creative process consultant, she continues to work as a youth advocate.
She uses The Inner Garden as a platform for her teaching on creativity, love & relationships, as well as plant spirit medicine, ceremonial work & a variety of meditative practices.
