We were fortunate to have Kathe Izzo visit our high school classroom to discuss topics such as the possibility of change, cliques & our actions & words affect others.  The prompts & activities provided a base for all of our students to identify with each other, share their writing & critique each other's work.

This made an especially strong, positive impact on one of my high-risk student.  His metamorphosis was undeniable. He became more focused, he attended regular classes, he gained a sense of confidence within him which he still exhibits to this day.

Kathe provides exercises that are invitations to find one's voices to explore your experience.  Her responses to one's writing are very powerful: she zeros in on what's working to make you see it anew & questions the other parts to help you see where you could go to revise.

The students are excited when Kathe is scheduled for class.  They get right to work, no procrastination whatsoever!
