me & elle
It was may several years ago & I had a diva gig: a stellar love salon just adjacent to the gold chip jean salon of Harvey Nix Manchester -- fav shopping hangout of footballer's wives & the wandering raver child bride.
My assistant (he was my second assistant . . not second to my heart but second in line after HN removed my first lovely assistant due to an undercover scandal never to be mentioned again) . . the beautiful Matthew ushered in what appeared to be a young girl with both incredible poise & also with a very young child.
I don't remember exactly how Elle arrived in my boudoir in the second floor window of HN, maybe if she is able to pirate some internet access today she can remind me . . did she make an appointment or did Matthew just wisk her off the floor of Harvey Nichols while shopping for stockings or tea?
When I arrived at HN the Mancunian corporate head informed me he knew nothing of what I was about to do but he wished me well anyway, which I thought was gracious of him. I informed him that I was not sure what I would be doing either but I assured him that by the end of the week I would be in love with everyone at the store & that they would be in love with me & that I would leave the store much better than when I arrived.
(he actually made an appointment on my last day & was shocked to inform me that I had been correct)
harvey nix love palace
it was one of those high energy, well appointed love shows, full-on hotel accommodations w/ deep tub & room service & the aforementioned assistants & full access to the penthouse restaurant & smoothie bar & homemade truffles delivered daily to the love window palace . . so by the 4th or 5th day when Elle arrived I hadn't really slept properly (this was way before my new raw foods/kundalini love artist lifestyle) for days . . .
We shimmered in front of each other. Matthew took the then baby Raph for a walk & left us alone . . & we were very alone together even in the crowded store.
I wish I could tell you what we spoke about. I am sure it was recounting our secrets, whatever was pertinent then. What I do remember was the flush that rose up my neck from the intensity of Elle's gaze & the break in my heart when she said remember me . .
(to be continued)
I made the appointment.
I'm pirating internet at the library, which you have just made me cry in.
xXx
(Only two minutes left, and I wanted to send you a lovely long email. Just know you're missed and loved.)
